Currently Chief Executive and partner of Gateways Business Consultants. Prior to that he was CEO of Shell Gas (LPG) for 7 years.

Over the past 25 years Shepherd has held Board Director Posts in sectors as diverse as medical aid, manufacturing services, automotive, media, retail, insurance and financial services. During that period he was CEO\GM for 14 years, operating at the coal face to grow, turnaround and stabilise businesses in 7 different countries across the SADEC region.

He has exercised leadership in civic and business organisations since the early 1980s in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Having been actively involved in the leadership of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa he was at the centre of the launch and implementation of King 1, 11 and 111 Codes of Corporate Governance.

Shepherd is an all-round leader with a keen ability to impart his enormous range of skills across the African continent.
